Fuoco is the first element. A dark-roasted blend of Arabica and fine Robusta pressed into a 5.2 g aluminium capsule — the professional Horeca dose used behind café counters, not the lighter plastic pod sold to households. The extra weight is why the crema holds and why the finish carries.

Tasting

• Intensity — 10 / 12
• Notes — dark cocoa, roasted hazelnut, molasses
• Body — full, syrupy
• Acidity — low
• Crema — dense, hazelnut-coloured, persistent
• Finish — long, cocoa-bitter, clean

Brewing

• Ristretto — 25 ml, for the densest expression
• Espresso — 40 ml, the intended serve
• Lungo — not recommended; the roast turns bitter past 60 ml
• With milk — excellent, and it will not disappear into it

The capsule

• Dose — 5.2 g, Horeca professional standard
• Body — food-grade aluminium, not plastic
• Seal — nitrogen-flushed and sealed at filling; aluminium is the only barrier that blocks light, oxygen and moisture completely
• Format — box of 10
• Compatibility — Nespresso® Original system machines
• Recycling — fully recyclable. Empty the grounds, rinse, and put the shell in household aluminium recycling.

Keeping them

Somewhere dry, out of direct light, at room temperature. Do not refrigerate — condensation is what dulls a capsule. Best within 12 months of the date on the box; the seal protects them well beyond that, but freshness is the point.

Pairing

Fuoco is the morning capsule. It is also the one to serve after dinner, where its cocoa finish sits correctly against dark chocolate, dates or an aged spirit. If you keep a single element in the house, keep this one.
